Memoria Press

Although I started last post, I just finished filling out a form to be able to carry Memoria Press items in the shop! How exciting! Memoria Press is a locally based company but has far reaching materials. They are classical in their approach to curriculum- Classical Latin, King James Bible, Classical Rhetoric, Classical History using Dorothy Mills Book of the Ancient World, The Ancient Greeks and Ancient Romans along with the Trojan War, Famous Men books and many others. You can use their curriculum as a complete set for a particular grade level or use a particular subject as an adjunct to another curriculum. If you eclectic like me, using a variety of different approaches works well for the learning styles in our house.
Let me know if you are interested in any of their products specifically and I can be sure to include them in an order.

Memoria Press coming soon!

Happy Easter! I am sitting outside enjoying this beautiful day filling out a form to be able to carry Memoria Press items in the shop. I love their products and have used some of them in my own home school. If there are specific things you would like me to carry, please let me know. It is hard to pick and choose! I also can purchase from Answers in Genesis, Easy Grammar and Learning Language Arts (Common Sense Press). A few of the companies have minimum amounts to purchase, that makes it a little more difficult but the bigger the order, the more discount is available.
Have you seen the study guides that go with literature from Memoria Press? There is a great one that goes with D’Aulaire’s Greek Myths- a difficult subject. The study guide was helpful in keeping all the “characters” straight.
Let me know if you want me to order specific titles. See you soon- shop hours 1-5 on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s.

The Getting Started Meeting today~

I feel so inspired! I went to a getting started in home schooling meeting today, hosted by Home for His Glory and was excited to see so many new faces. I wasn’t able to stay for the whole meeting but was inspired by the preparation, support and honesty of the ladies leading the meeting. I pray for each of the new families that God will lead them where He wants them to be whether it is home schooling or elsewhere and that He supplies them with mentors, friends, support and encouragement along the way if this is His plan for them. Home schooling isn’t for everyone but for those that the Lord leads into this venture, it is a wonderful experience. If I can help in any way, please let me know.

Happy Spring!

One more week and it is official although it has felt like spring for a few weeks here in the Ohio Valley. Flowers and trees are blooming, the nest of Mockingbirds near the bedroom window wakes early and there is mud everywhere!
I will be open again this week with lots of new things, great home school materials – come save some money!
See you soon, if you need directions there is a map on the website – for those of you on facebook or call me~

Open this week~

It will be a beautiful day for a short drive to the country. I will be open on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 1-5pm. I have been receiving things all winter and have really full shelves. Still unpacking a few of the boxes so no list today- sorry. come see what’s here- do not buy new teacher editions (ABeka, BJU, Rod and Staff, Shurley, Horizons, Memoria Press, Singapore, Easy Grammar, Apologia) at least, until you check with me. I may not have it in stock but will probably be getting one over the next 2-3 months. If you want to bring things in- please call me first, I am full and a little choosey because of that and cannot take everything you ever used all at once (I cannot tell you how many times “2 small boxes” has turned out to be a full van with all the seats removed !!).
Come see what’s here, save lots of money and support both a local business and your fellow home school families (most everything is consignment)..
